Bono Earns Podium Finish at Scotty Wood Invitational

ALLENTOWN, Pa.- The Keystone College men's wrestling team was in action Saturday morning at the Scotty Wood Invitational hosted by Muhlenberg College.

The Giants finished ninth of nine teams with 12.5 points. Messiah University won the team title with 163.5 points. Elizabethtown College earned second place with 154 points and Muhlenberg in third at 104.

Nero Bono (Southboro, Mass./Assabet Valley) continued his dominant season as he finished fourth overall at the 197-pound weight class. The senior picked up two wins by tech fall. In his first match, Bono defeated Isaiah Durham from Messiah 19-4 (6:17). He later took down Washington & Jefferson's Jayden Johnson in the quarterfinal by a score of 20-5 (4:55) to advance to the semifinal.

Bono would lose to the eventual 197-pound champion, Tucker Seidel, of Messiah. Seidel earned a 15-0 technical fall over Bono at the 1:23 mark to advance to the championship bout.

Bono wrestled Messiah's Tim Eddinger in the third-place match where Eddinger came away with a narrow 5-4 decision victory.

Keystone is back on the mat after Thanksgiving when they compete in a dual meet against New Jersey City University on Thursday, Dec. 4 at 7 p.m.
