WILKES-BARRE, Pa.- The Keystone College men's wrestling team competed Saturday morning at the 2026 NY/PA Duals, hosted by Wilkes University.
Keystone opened the day against No. 20 NYU, falling 46–9. Despite the lopsided team score, the Giants earned bright spots late in the dual. Sophomore James Craig (Harpursville, N.Y./Harpursville) delivered one of the most exciting bouts of the match, edging NYU's Yaman Shehadeh in sudden victory, 13–10, at 285 pounds. At 197 pounds, Nero Bono (Southboro, Mass./Assabet Valley) also picked up a forfeit victory to put points on the board for Keystone.
In the second bout, Keystone took on Hunter College and dropped a 54–3 decision. Bono once again led the way for the Giants, earning an 11–10 decision over Alimkhan Guseinov at 197 pounds to account for Keystone's lone score of the dual. The narrow victory highlighted Bono's consistency against tough opposition throughout the event.
The Giants closed the NY/PA Duals against the United States Merchant Marine Academy, where Keystone was shut out in a 52–0 result.
Across the tournament, Keystone competed against three programs that brought depth and experience to the mats, providing a demanding test for the Giants' lineup. Bono finished the event with two individual victories, while Craig's sudden victory win against NYU stood out as one of Keystone's top moments of the weekend.
Keystone will head back to Wilkes next Sunday, Jan. 25 for the John Reese Duals.
