Allentown, Pa. – Keystone College's wrestling team finished fourth out of seven teams on Saturday at the Scotty Wood Duals hosted by Muhlenberg College. The Giants (1-3) opened the day by defeating Kent State University at Tuscarawas before dropping matches to Muhlenberg, Camden County College, and Washington & Jefferson College.
Paul Miller (Bethlehem, Pa./Saucon Valley) went 4-0 on the day with two pins while
Colby Bronzburg (Bloomsburg, Pa./Bloomsburg) was 3-1 with a trio of pins to lead Keystone on the day.
Match 1 vs. Kent State University at Tuscarawas
Keystone edged out Kent State University at Tuscarawas (2-3) in Saturday's first match, 28-27. Bronzburg (125), Miller (133), and
Ryan Celenza (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) (141) all won with pins for the Giants while
Thomas Michaels (Souderton, Pa./Souderton) picked up a crucial major decision victory at 157 pounds to help secure the win for the Giants, who also picked a win by forfeit at the heavyweight division. The Golden Eagles scored two wins, two forfeit victories, and a decision in the loss.
Match 2 vs. Muhlenberg
Host Muhlenberg (2-0), who would go on to win the tournament, defeated Keystone 39-18 in the Giants' second match of the day. The Mules totaled three falls, two forfeits, one disqualification, and one decision in the win. Bronzburg and Miller both recorded their second pins of the day for the Giants, who also had
TJ Caswell (Manville, N.J./Manville) win at 149 points by medical forfeit.
Match 3 vs. Camden County
Camden County College defeated Keystone in the third match of the day, 35-15. The Cougars totaled three forfeits, two pins, and two decisions against the Giants. Bronzburg posted his third pin of the day while Caswell earned a 3-0 decision at 149 pounds. Miller picked up his third win of the day with a forfeit.
Match 4 vs. Washington & Jefferson
Washington & Jefferson (3-2) defeated Keystone in Saturday's third-place match, 42-12. The Presidents, who had forfeit victories, added two decisions and one pin to claim third place in the tournament.
Jake Rugis (Bethlehem, Pa./Freedom) notched a pin for the Giants at the heavyweight class while Miller claimed a forfeit win at 133 pounds to account for Keystone's points in its final match of the day.
