Wrestling Competes at Electric City Duals

SCRANTON, Pa. - Nov. 11, 2018 - Sophomore Colby Bronzburg (Bloomsburg, Pa./Bloomsburg) and freshman Jason Jones (Hellertown, Pa/Saucon Valley) both went 5-0 on Sunday as the Keystone College wrestling team went 1-4 overall at the Electric City Duals, hosted by the University of Scranton.

Against Lackawanna College at 10 am, Bronzburg won at 141 pounds by forfeit while Jones won by decision at 149 pounds over Barley Novak, 7-0. Freshman Alec Talanca (Berwick, Pa./Berwick) pinned Thomas Fell at 165 pounds (1:51).

Versus SUNY Oneonta at 11:30 am, Bronzburg won by decision against Ahken Chu, 6-3, while Jones defeated Dean Ramond, 16-0, by technical fall.

Going up against the host Royals at 1 pm, Bronzburg won by major decision over Brandon Alteri, 16-5, and Jones won by technical fall over T.J. Conlon, 18-1.

The Giants defeated Temple, 41-12, as freshman Issac Medina pinned Anthony Zayas at 133 pounds in 2:25 and Bronzburg pinned Andy Youn in 48 seconds. Junior Ryan Celenza (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) won by forfeit at 149 pounds while Jones won by technical fall over Nick Sisismionai, 16-0.

Talanca pinned Christian Pertucci in 2:01 and freshman John Hooper (Hanover, Pa./Hanover Area) also pinned Tony Deaver in 3:32 at 184 pounds. At heavyweight, freshman Cameron Smith (East Orange, N.J./St. Benedict's Prep) won by forfeit.

In the final match of the day against Mulhenberg at 4 pm, Bronzburg pinned Alex Helpin in 32 seconds while Jones won by major decision over Nick Cope, 16-3.
