SELINSGROVE, PA- The Keystone College men's and women's track and field team headed out to Susquehanna University for the annual Jim Taylor Duels, showcasing impressive marks throughout the events. Jamilah Higgins (Cincinnati, Ohio/Purcell Martin) impressed on the women's side, with a slew of men's athletes showcasing their talents amongst the institutions.
Jamilah Higgins (Cincinnati, Ohio/Purcell Martin) competed in two events during the meet, with her first coming in the 200 meter races. Higgins finished her race showcasing a time of 32.51, placing 45th in the meet. Higgins continued to dazzle in the women's long jump, earning a final score of 4.25 meters (13 feet, 11.5 inches).Â
The men's side of the meet saw over ten athletes compete in multiple events. Keystone's best finisher in the 100 meter event saw Marquez Strickland (Waldorf, Md./Mojave) finish in 32nd, posting a time of 11.72. Strickland continued to shine in the 200 meter race, placing 47th in the event with a time of 24.01.
Jahvani Vazquez (Bradenton, Fla./Southeast) finished in 10th place in the men's high jump, earning his best jump of the afternoon with a distance of 1.73 meters (5 feet, 8 inches). Evan Suraci (Hillsborough, N.J./Hillsborough) earned the highest marks in the men's long jump, placing 29th. Ahmodrion Jones (Wilmington, Del./Delcastle Tech) earned the Giants best place of the meet, finishing in 7th place in the men's triple jump with a distance of 12.59 meters.
The Keystone men's and women's track and field teams jump back into action against Ursinus University at the Ursinus Carnival on April 3-4.
