CSAC WOMEN'S BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP SET TO START MONDAY

ROSEMONT, Pa. –
Five teams will be seeking their first Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) women's basketball title as the 2020 CSAC Women's Basketball Championship starts on Monday.

The tournament starts on Monday with fifth-seed Centenary University heading north to play fourth-seed Clarks Summit University at 7 p.m. Play continues on Wednesday, with Monday's winner heading to play top-seed Keystone College.

In the other semifinal, second-seed The College of Saint Elizabeth will host third-seed Notre Dame of Maryland University.

Wednesday's winners will meet on Saturday at the highest remaining seed for the CSAC Championship, and the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.

Keystone, the top-seed, comes into the tournament with a record 19-6 and 17-1 in the CSAC with the only loss coming to Notre Dame of Maryland. The Giants average 77.9 points per game, and are led by sophomore guard Bella Lamonea (Glendora, Calif./South Hills) who averages 21.3 points per game and is shooting a perfect 50 percent (209-418) from the field. The Giants advanced to the title game last year, before falling to Rosemont.

The College of Saint Elizabeth, in its first year in the CSAC, finished the regular season with a mark of 18-6 overall and 15-3 in the CSAC. The Eagles averaged 70.5 points per game and are led by senior guard Raklyah Sellers who averages 15 points per game.

Notre Dame of Maryland University, who advanced to the playoffs last season but dropped its first round game, finished 17-8 overall and 13-5 in the CSAC. The Gators earned the third seed via a tiebreaker over Clarks Summit, as the Gators defeated Keystone. Notre Dame averages 70.3 points per game, and is led by freshman forward Ayana Brim who averages 15.4 points per game.

Clarks Summit University, the fourth-seed, is making its first appearance in the CSAC playoffs since 2012, when then Baptist Bible finished as the runner up in the CSAC. The Defenders come into the playoffs with a mark of 18-7 and 13-5 in the CSAC. CSU is led by sophomore guard Elizabeth Singleton who averages 19.7 points per game.

Finally, Centenary University is making a repeat trip to the post-season. The Cyclones, who are the fifth-seed, are 14-10 overall and 10-8 in the CSAC. They are led by sophomore guard Taylor Bossert who averages 13.5 points per game.
