Allan Wolfe is recognized for his outstanding two-sport career as a standout member of Keystone’s basketball and baseball teams.  A team captain in both sports, Allan never missed a start in two years for either team and was named the College Athlete of the Year in both 1960 and 1961.
 
On the basketball court, Allan started every game during the 1959-60 and 1960-61 seasons at guard and was a team co-captain for the 1960-61 team.  Allan was named to the All-East Team both years for his performance on the court.  On the baseball diamond, Allan started every game during the 1960 and 1961 seasons at second base and was a team captain both years.
 
The President of his Senior Class and President of the Varsity K Club, All delivered the Keystone Junior College Commencement Address for the Class of 1961 before going on to earn an M.A. from Gettysburg College in 1963, an M.A. from Drake University in 1965, and a Ph.D. from the University of Vermont in 1968 under a NASA traineeship.
 
Since 1968, Allan has served as a professor at Lebanon Valley College, having published and presented papers at state and national meetings while supervising more than 100 student Independent Study Projects.  Among his numerous awards as professor, Allan has twice received the Darbaker Award for Microscopy from PA Academy of Science (1986 and 1989) and the Thomas Rhys Vickroy Distinguished Teaching Award (2001).
 
Allan, who delivered Lebanon Valley’s Commencement Address in 2002, serves as the College’s Chief Faculty Marshal and Mace Bearer, received grants from the National Science Foundation and Whitaker Foundation to initiate the Science Education Partnership at Lebanon Valley with local school districts and participated in the Faculty Research Program at the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Chemical Defense in 2008.
 
An active member in his local community, Allan spent 23 years teaching in the Lebanon Learning Enrichment Program for Elementary Students and remains active in St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church.
