Neil Duncan ’70 was Keystone’s second national champion, accomplishing the feat by capturing the 134-pound weight class during the 1970 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) National Wrestling Championships.

Duncan captured the national title with relative ease as he recorded a 12-2 decision in the championship match.  He also added a NJCAA Region XIX title in the 134-pound weight class prior to the tournament.  His impressive performance at nationals helped Keystone capture third place overall in the team event.

Following his days at Keystone Duncan went on to wrestle at Hofstra University on an athletic scholarship.  He was named as the captain of 1972 team, and was a two time participant in the NCAA Wrestling Championships.  Following his collegiate days Duncan continued to wrestle at the national amateur level.  In 1974 he placed third in the 149lb. class at the National AAU Championships and fourth in the same class at the 1975 U.S. Wrestling Federation Nationals.

In 1981 Duncan was inducted into the NJCAA Hall of Fame and in 1988 he was inducted into the National Wrestling Coaches Association’s NJCAA Wrestling Hall of Fame.  This past April he was recognized by the Long Island Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum when he was presented with a Lifetime Service Award.
